Test Cancellations/Changes
Tests can be cancelled or changed by telephone or email by giving 14 days notice prior to the test.
Changes to test dates and refunds will incur a £25.00 processing fee.
No refunds will be provided for cancellations made with less than 14 days notice, or the candidate failing to attend or any other action on the candidates part which prevents the test taking place.
Taxi Assessment Structure
The assessment consists of a driving licence and eyesight check followed by a 60 minute driving assessment across a variety of road types, reversing and independent driving. A maximum of 9 driving faults are allowed. You will fail if you make a serious or dangerous fault. You will also be asked question related to the Highway code, Car safety, Legal Responsibilities.

If you pass your taxi driving assessment, you will receive the following:
- Pass certificate
- Debrief from the examiner

The candidate must bring a suitable car for the assessment which must:
- be taxed
- be fully covered by a valid motor insurance policy
- be roadworthy and have a current MOT (if it’s over 3 years old)
- have no warning lights showing (e.g. the airbag warning light)
- have no tyre damage and the legal tread depth on each tyre (a space-saver spare tyre must not be fitted)
- be smoke-free (this means the candidate can’t smoke in it just before or during the test)
- be able to reach at least 62mph and have a mph speedometer
- have 4 wheels and a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of no more than 3,500 kg
